Date Night Ideas
Really good comments yesterday. You guys rock!
I thought it would be a good thing if everyone could share a few creative ideas for what is commonly termed "date night."
Usually it means going out on a date without the kids of course but in today's economy it can get pricey but I am sure there are some creative ways to keep the flame alive without going bankrupt.
I still personally prefer taking my Veronica to a fancy restaurant for a nice quiet evening at an Italian restaurant and just spending some good time talking about everything and later going for a drive. We definitely need to do it more often.
How about some tips from you our faithful bloggers on your creative approach to "date night"?

We take turns one month it is his turn to pick and the next month it is mine. The only problem is every month Jonathon wants to watch a movie he never changes it up. So, when it is my turn I change it up. My ideas are playing tennis, once we went shopping (but that was no fun for neither one if us), having a pinic and walking at the park, I LOVE eating out. A few years before Nathanael was born when we were broke I made a nice candle light dinner and then we talked. That was so much fun.
Come to think about it August is almost over so we have to plan a date in the next 2 weeks, but I cannot remember whos turn it is. LOL
Date Night:
We usually make it a date day and spend as much time together as possible. Sometimes if the weather is nice we start off walking along the shore hand in hand or if the weather is chilly we go for a drive upstate and take in the views from mountaintops over looking valleys of trees and rivers marveling at God's creation. Sometimes we pack a lunch and then have a nice dinner at our favorite Thai food restaurant. Then it's off to a romantic hot spot for some married folks loving.
Sometimes I'll have a surprise date night set up at the apartment. While Lana is out I'll decorate the apartment as if it were an Italian restaurant with table covers, candles, and cultural Italian music playing. I'll even put the "Centonze Ristorante" sign on the front door along with the night's menu. I'll have a four course meal set up and waiting for her when she walks in and act like the waiter and matre'd. Fellas, I've done this a few times and it melts her like butter!! You can change this up anyway you want, Japanese, TexMex, Caribbean, you name it. It's a guaranteed delight and a sure fire way to light her romantic fire!!! =D
Hey, no fair comment deleted!!! We want to hear all your ideas...hold nothing back!
Franknlana, I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Faith Assembly family. What a pleasure it has been to blog on Pastor Dan's web page with you. Guys, pay close attention to Brother Franks date night ideas...AWESOME...really what melts Lana's heart is the thought that you put so much effort into making her feel cherished, special and loved. Yo go Frank!
I really enjoy gospel singing. My spouse unfortunately does not. Through the years I have become accustomed to going to gospel concerts by myself...Rather than hear can we go now after only 3 songs :) Well, League city parks and recreation hosted a gospel sing a few weeks ago. My spouse decided to make me happy and go along with me. We brought along some cold drinks and parked right where we could see and hear perfectly. We rolled all the windows down and really had the best time ever. He reclined his seat and relaxed. I enjoyed having his company and I told him all about my favorite songs. He even let me sing and clap along without commenting on how bad I sounded. We have also attended many bluegrass jam sessions at the Johnny Arolfo civic center. FREE...the best time ever! Now, if I can only get him to dance :)
When we first got married Lloyd and I would go swimming, fishing, or walk to church. Later on in the years we'd go square dancing or to the auction. We'd also go traveling in our trailer. It didn't have to be too far. We always had alot of fun doing those kinds of things.
