On Mt. Carmel in Israel the prophet Elijah challenged the false prophets of Baal and the people to make up their minds between serving God or serving the false gods of Baal and Astoreth. The people had instead chosen to mix both religions into one thereby trying to satisfy both but this simply wouldn't do since God expects us to follow him and be loyal to him only.
In 1 Kings 18:21 Elijah asks this question of the people, "How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!"
Here's the point: As Christians we must stop wavering between the theory of evolution and the biblical account of creation. There is no reason for us to be ashamed of believing by faith what God says he did and how he says he did it. Let us firmly believe it, proclaim it and defend it.
Make up your mind to live by faith and refuse to accept the theory of evolution. This is a spiritual battle and there can only be one winner. I'll take God's word any day.
Joshua, Moses' successor had it right when he stated emphatically, "Choose you this day whom you will serve...but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord!"

Good point Pastor! Sunday was a good sermon, and the tearing of the pages from the Bible was a very effective object lesson. It just sort of was shocking to see something so Holy treated in that manner. But according to the sermon, we have to take God's Word as the full truth or we are treating something Holy in an unholy fashion. As you said; "God's Word is true, He means what He says, and says what He means."
Bless U,
Susan
I agree with Susan. I too, was SHOCKED when I saw Pastor Dan ripping pages out of the Bible and tossing them on the floor. That is exactly what we are doing if we believe this part, but now that part is kind of iffy because we NOW KNOW...I want to believe all of God's word is true and He meant just what He said no matter what.
