We have begun a new sermon series entitled “Genesis.” We are exploring creation and the beginning of our world from God’s perspective.
Sunday I spoke on “Let There Be Light!” from Genesis 1:3-5. We had an awesome worship service and the Lord poured out His Spirit on many people that day. In this first day of creation God spoke light into existence.
It is important to note that God reveals himself as a speaking God. He desires to engage his creation through speech. It doesn’t say he snapped his fingers or waved his hands but rather that God spoke. While there were no physical creations present to hear him there were spiritual forces in existence that needed to hear God speak. When God spoke “Let there be light” it was a command, a decree, an order. So many today need to hear God speak “light” into their darkness. They feel lost and they stumble around looking for an answer. Know that God is still speaking today through his Son Jesus Christ he has given the final word and called upon all mankind to come to redemption through faith in Jesus Christ. It’s time to allow God to speak into your darkness and time to step into the light of His great love for you.
Join us this Sunday as we celebrate Father’s Day! Bring Dad and your whole family too!

I agree that the Lord did indeed pour out His spirit on His church during last weeks worship service. I am praying that we as a church body continue to come hungry and chasing after God for a deeper relationship with Him.
